From Marietta, Georgia, double bassist Xavier Foley is the First Prize winner of the 2014 Sphinx Competition. As such, he has appeared as soloist with the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra, Nashville Symphony, Brevard Concert Orchestra,  the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and made his Carnegie Hall solo debut with the Sphinx Virtuosi on October 2014. Xavier is also a winner of Astral Artists’ 2014 National Auditions. Xavier performs as part of the Sphinx Soloist Program sponsored by the GM Foundation. He is Impromptu’s Rising Star recipient for 2017 and his appearance in Key West is made possible by the Gail Williams Munder Concert Series.
